Our family, the Vadakethala family loves to celebrate life. Unlike most Christian homes, where the main elaborately celebrated functions are often weddings and baptisms, our family celebrates everything – however small or big. And it is not just sitting around and gossiping. Our functions are literally mega shows with fashion events, mimicry, dance, skit, and singing. All the family members pitch in with their talents. Sometimes there is even a ‘best couple’ competition!
When the programmes are on such a large scale, the family show had to have a really cool name. That’s how the name ‘Vadakethala Extravaganza’ happened. My father is one among seven siblings and mummy has a big family too. Daddy’s younger brother got married to mummy’s sister and since then we all live like a big joint family. When my parents travel, the uncle and aunt used to take over the baby sitting. And then my parents would stay at home when aunt and uncle traveled.
Now, when I am back exhausted from the shoot, I usually sit up watching movies on Netflix. The other favourite haunt is the breakfast table in the kitchen gobbling up my mum’s yummy food. I make it a point to keep away my phone. I do enjoy cooking, but when I am in the kitchen, I don’t even want my mother to be there.
I love to set up my own wardrobe. Wallpapers are another of my weakness. In my Facebook account you will find many ‘dream home’ photographs. What I have in mind is a luxurious abode. I want a separate room just for my wardrobe.
I recently came across the photos of Priyanka Chopra’s new home. Complete with luxury features and even an underground pool. Someday I hope to visit her house. I would certainly need a reference for my future home!
